Kaushik Hossain Taposh was detained today in a Dhaka court in connection with a complaint alleging that he had stolen private Gaan Bangla television.
Ziadur Rahman, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka, issued the ruling, granting the police’s plea.
On December 4, Gulshan Police Station Sub-inspector (SI) Harunur Rashid begged to exhibit Taposh, who had been arrested in connection with the matter. On that day, the court scheduled a hearing in the case for today.
Five people, including Taposh and his wife Farzana Munni, were sued by one Syed Shams Uddin for threatening to take over the music-based channel at gunpoint. Four other unidentified individuals were also connected to the case.
On November 4, Taposh was taken into custody from the Uttara neighbourhood of the capital.
