Royal Jordanian Airlines to launch direct flight from Amman to Dhaka

Jordan’s national flag carrier, Royal Jordanian Airlines, has declared its intention to start operating direct flights between Amman and Dhaka.

Through Amman, visitors from Bangladesh can take advantage of further connections to a number of locations in Europe and North America.

Simon Air Travels Limited has been designated as Royal Jordanian Airlines’ General Sales Agent (GSA) in Bangladesh to help with the airline’s debut into the Bangladeshi market.

Simon Air Travels will be in charge of marketing services, ticket sales, and offering the airline full customer and agent support.

Royal Jordanian Airlines will start selling tickets offline in Bangladesh through Simon Air Travels on December 8.

According to Afsiya Jannat Saleh, Managing Director of Simon Air Travels, the airline intends to start operations by the middle of next year, even if the exact date for the start of direct flights has not yet been established.

According to her, the initial ticketing process will take place offline, but it will soon be available online.
With Amman serving as its headquarters, Royal Jordanian Airlines presently offers flights to more than 45 locations and more than 50 connecting points across the globe.

The addition of Royal Jordanian Airlines strengthens Bangladesh’s international air connectivity, providing travellers with more options to reach Europe, North America, and beyond.

The last international airline to launch operations in Bangladesh was Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s leading carrier and a member of Star Alliance.

Ethiopian Airlines began its direct flights between Dhaka and Addis Ababa on November 3, 2024.

This development reflects Bangladesh’s growing importance as a hub for global travel and trade, creating new opportunities for passengers and businesses alike.
