License of 334 ISPs, call center, IP telephony companies revoked

334 IP (internet protocol) telephone firms, call centres, and internet service providers (ISPs) have had their licenses and registration certificates withdrawn by the telecom authority.

In light of this, MA Taleb Hossain, Director of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), issued a notification.

According to the notice, the relevant authorities have approved the order to revoke these licenses.

Since these businesses failed to apply for the renewal of their licenses or registration certificates and the license period had already passed, the BTRC made this judgement.

According to the notice, doing business with these firms is illegal under the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Act of 2001.

The businesses have been ordered to settle any unpaid debts, if any, within 30 days and turn in the original licence certificates to the BTRC.
