Air force conducts ‘Fire Power Demo-2024’

At Rasulpur Firing Range in Tangail, the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) carried out an air-to-ground Firing Exercise-2024 (Exercise Flash Point) today.

According to an ISPR announcement, Bangladesh Air Force principal of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan was the exercise’s principal guest and saw a number of its events.

The event was also watched by local administrative authorities, senior military officers from the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, and Bangladesh Air Force, and higher-ranking officials from several ministries.

This exercise’s main goal is to demonstrate BAF’s operational skills while making the most use of its resources.

The exercise intends to assess the efficiency of current BAF infrastructures and resources by showcasing synchronised firepower, precise targeting, and tactical manoeuvres.

All types of aircraft in BAF inventory, including fighter jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters participated in this exercise.

This prestigious event is part of BAF’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of operational readiness, ensuring that the pilots are equipped with the skills necessary to respond effectively in real-world combat situations to keep the sky free from intruders.

Numerous fighter aircraft, such as the MiG-29B/UB, F-7/FT-7, and K-8W, demonstrated their agility and precise strike skills in combat situations.

Furthermore, AN-32 cargo planes proved to be efficient in airlift, troop deployment, and logistical support missions.

In a variety of combat tasks, including air-to-ground shooting, close air support, search and rescue, troop insertion, and tactical mobility, helicopters such as the Bell-212, AW-139, and Mi-17 also showed their versatility.

BAF pilots and crew will have a priceless chance to demonstrate their technical proficiency, tactical awareness, and accuracy in demanding situations during this exercise by BAF aircraft.

Participants will gain hands-on experience in accuracy by targeting and delivering munitions which is essential for maintaining readiness in diverse contingencies.

Although counterair operations are the BAF’s main responsibility, one of its most important duties is to provide close air support to its sister services. Furthermore, according to the ISPR announcement, this exercise will enable BAF pilots stay at the forefront of contemporary combat capabilities by honing their skills, improving operational efficiency, and refining tactics.
