Govt extends army’s magistracy power by more 60 days

A “Pope Francis Yunus 3Zero Club” has been established in Rome by Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and Pope Francis, the spiritual leader of the Catholic Church, in an attempt to bring about a more inclusive and transformative future for all people.

For the young people in Rome’s underprivileged neighbourhoods, the “3Zero Club” is a ray of hope, offering a forum for the generation of creative concepts and the development of tangible, long-lasting solutions.

Prof. Yunus told Cardinal Baldo Reina, the Vicar General of Rome, in a letter that he was “deeply honoured” by the gesture.

The magistracy authority granted to commissioned army officers has been extended by the government for an additional two months, or sixty days.

Officers on deputation in the Bangladesh Coast Guard and Border Guard Bangladesh will also have the ability to use the magistracy power, according to a circular released by the public administration ministry on Friday.

According to the circular, they will have nationwide authority to exercise their magistracy power, and the 60-day countdown will begin on the date the circular was issued.

In an effort to strengthen law and order, the government granted commissioned army officers the authority of magistracy for a period of sixty days earlier on September 17.
