Syeda Rizwana Hasan, the adviser for environment, forests, and climate change, stated today that Bangladesh’s collaboration with the World Bank is crucial to achieving the country’s environmental goals.
“Together, we aim to strengthen the nation’s defenses against climate threats, protect biodiversity, and foster a sustainable environment for our people,” she said in a meeting with a World Bank delegation led by Practice Manager Christian Albert Peter at the Bangladesh Secretariat here today.
Strengthening Bangladesh’s climate resilience, improving environmental protections, and investigating prospects for sustainable development were the main objectives of the summit.
Christian Albert Peter reaffirmed the World Bank’s dedication to funding projects that advance environmental preservation, green growth, and community adaptability in the face of climate change.
“Our shared vision with Bangladesh is to integrate environmental considerations into all development projects, ensuring long-term ecological health and socioeconomic well-being,” he said.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to explore project areas and strategic interventions to address climate adaptation, sustainable development and biodiversity conservation.
Both sides expressed optimism about the positive impacts of these initiatives, reaffirming their dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable growth in Bangladesh.
