Iran declared on Wednesday that it was still producing missiles in spite of Israeli airstrikes that had targeted these facilities the previous week.
“The production of offensive systems, including missiles, has not been interrupted,” Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh said reporters.
“The enemy tried to damage both our defensive and offensive systems,” he stated.
Citing Tehran’s October 1 missile attack, which killed a Revolutionary Guards commander and Iranian-backed militant leaders, Israel conducted strikes on Iranian military installations on Saturday.
The strikes “hit Iran’s defence capabilities and missile production,” according to a later statement from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to Iran’s military, four troops were killed in the attack, while a few radar equipment suffered “limited damage.” According to Iranian media, a civilian was also killed.
Tehran, claiming it does not seek conflict, promised a “appropriate response” to Israel’s warning against retaliation.
