French court jails Rwandan ex-doctor for 27 year in genocide trial

A French court has sentenced a former Rwandan doctor, Eugene Rwamucyo, to 27 years in prison for his role in the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The court found him guilty of complicity in genocide, crimes against humanity, and conspiracy to prepare these crimes.

Rwamucyo, 65, was accused of collaborating with the Rwandan authorities to spread anti-Tutsi propaganda and actively participating in mass killings by attempting to conceal evidence of the genocide.

This verdict marks the latest conviction in a series of trials held in France related to the Rwandan genocide, where hundreds of thousands of Tutsis and moderate Hutus were brutally murdered.
