Professor Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser, requested advisers today to expedite the museum’s construction in preparation for the popular rebellion at the Gonobhaban in July and August.
The Chief Adviser issued the directives while touring the palace in Dhaka, which was the residence of the overthrown ruler Sheikh Hasina for the previous 15 years and came to represent her harsh reign and repression.

Chief Adviser visits Gonobhaban DHAKA, October 28: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus asked advisers to fast-track…
As he examined the wreckage, Prof. Muhammad Yunus stated, “The museum should preserve the memories of her misrule and the anger people expressed when they ousted her from power.”
On August 5, just after Hasina escaped Bangladesh and sought safety in India, hundreds of thousands of demonstrators assaulted the Gonobhaban.
In order to express their ire, protesters wrote protest notes and drew graffiti on the Gonobhaban walls and chambers, including Khuni Hasina (killer Hasina).
The Chief Adviser suggested that the Musuem in Gonobhaban also construct a model of the Aynaghar (Mirror House), where Hasina’s infamous security forces imprisoned hundreds of opposition activists and dissidents in secret.
He claimed that tourists should be reminded of the torture that the hidden prisoners endured at the Aaynaghar.
The Chief Adviser was accompanied on the visit by advisers Adilur Rahman Khan, Nahid Islam, and Asif Mahmud.
Professor Yunus instructed the advisors to seek advice from museum specialists.
He instructed them to complete museum plans by the end of this year.
Student leader-turned-advisor Nahid Islam stated that the museum will carefully document the wrongdoings of the Hasina dictatorship beginning in 2009.
He explained that in order to learn how other nations built memorials honouring their revolutions and uprisings, they were conferring with specialists from other nations.
The Chief Adviser’s special assistant, Mahfuj Alam, was also in attendance.
