Denmark keen to invest in Bangladesh’s port

Denmark has shown a strong desire to help the growth of Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical industry and invest in the country’s port facilities and offshore wind energy.

According to a press release from the foreign ministry, these were disclosed on Tuesday during a meeting between Foreign Secretary Md. Jashim Uddin and Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Christian Brix Moller.

The foreign secretary greeted the growing interest of Danish businesses in making investments in Bangladesh at the meeting.

Jashim outlined the reform efforts of the interim administration and expressed gratitude to Denmark for offering Bangladesh particular assistance in the areas of human rights, democracy, good governance, institutional capacity building, and rehabilitation of torture victims.
According to the foreign secretary, Bangladesh placed a high emphasis on its long-standing relationship with Denmark.

He expressed Dhaka’s eagerness to see the bilateral ties between Denmark and Bangladesh develop into a broad-based economic relationship, with an emphasis on trade and investment, sustainability, and the green transition.
 
Both sides expressed the two countries’ desire to further strengthen bilateral relations for mutual benefit.
 
Danish envoy congratulated Jashim on his recent appointment as the Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh.
