Austria polling stations open for general elections

In Austria, polling places opened on Sunday for the general election, which may see the far-right achieve a historic victory over the conservatives in this Alpine EU country.

Though it has ruled multiple times, the Freedom Party (FPOe), which has been topping pre-election polls, has never won the majority of the national vote.
