India’s Border Security Force (BSF) killed a minor Bangladeshi girl along the frontier in Moulvibazar district, prompting Bangladesh to lodge a forceful protest with India today.
Shwarna Das, a 13-year-old Bangladeshi girl from Juri upazila in Moulvibazar district, was fatally shot by the Border Security Force (BSF) of India on September 1.
The Indian High Commission in Dhaka received the protest note from the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry today, according to a press release.
Dhaka firmly protested and condemned such ruthless acts in the note, and it expressed profound concern regarding the incident.
The Bangladesh government was reminded that border slaying incidents are unwarranted, undesirable, and in violation of the Joint Indo-Bangladesh Guidelines for Border Authorities, 1975.
Dhaka urged the Indian government to halt the recurrence of such heinous acts, conduct inquiries into all border murders, identify the responsible parties, and bring them to justice.
