As part of its efforts to strengthen relations with Bangladesh, Kuwait plans to hire additional human resources, especially skilled laborers, from the South Asian nation, the Gulf kingdom’s departing ambassador announced today.
Kuwaiti Envoy in Dhaka When Faisal Mutlaq Aladwani visited Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus for the last time in the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka, he said the following.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus complimented the Kuwaiti envoy at the meeting, calling him a “wonderful friend of Bangladesh” and expressing the hope that he would carry on in this capacity in the days to come.
Professor answered, “Yeah, but only in the context of a relationship with students.
The outgoing Kuwait envoy said more than 300,000 Bangladeshis are working in the Gulf emirate and his country is keen to recruit more Bangladeshis.
“We want to recruit more doctors, nurses and engineers,” he said, adding more than 5,000 Bangladeshi troops were also serving in Kuwait.
During the meeting, cooperation on defense, the Rohingya crisis, the Palestinian issue, economic engagement, and energy cooperation were stressed.
The Chief Advisor expressed gratitude to Kuwait for supporting the humanitarian efforts for the Rohingya.
Additionally, he wanted to see more collaboration in the energy and investment sectors between Kuwait and Bangladesh.
