Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain announced here Wednesday that Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) later this month, however his visit will only last a short while.
“(However) the date of Chief Adviser’s departure is not finalised yet,” he told reporters at the foreign ministry here.
The advisor mentioned how short Professor Yunus’s visit to New York will be.
Prior to the trip, Hossain promised to talk with him about the Chief Adviser’s commitments at the UNGA.
Additionally, the Foreign Affairs Advisor mentioned that Yunus might take part in a few side events while in New York.
When asked about Sheikh Hasina’s standing in India, Hossain counseled reporters to address their questions with Indian officials.
Hossain restated that if necessary, the government would follow the law in order to bring Sheikh Hasina back to Bangladesh.
Hossain underlined that Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are not legally binding and that there is always room for review to preserve national interests with regard to the newly signed MoUs with India, especially those in the railway industry.
