Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s passenger services have seen a significant transformation as a result of the actions implemented to guarantee prompt luggage release, end luggage-cutting gang dominance, and cease harassing.
“We’re working to improve the standard of the passenger services. A special cautionary measure has taken to check stealing of belongings and goods by cutting luggage of air passengers. The expatriate workers have been expressing satisfaction over quick release of the luggage,” said an official familiar with the process.
The situation has changed overnight, he claimed, thanks to the 54 workers who work around the clock at the expatriate welfare desk to raise the bar for airport services.
At the airport, free WiFi and help desk services are currently offered.
“Ten telephone booths have so far been installed at the airport from which one can talk over the phone free of cost,” he said.
Talking to this correspondent, some passengers expressed their satisfaction over the services extended to them at the airport, saying that the harassment has been declined manifolds.
“So, we are feeling comfort,” said a passenger.
In order to provide hassle-free services to airport passengers, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman, Air-Vice Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan, informed reporters that the support desks and phone booths have been turned on.
“We are currently giving special attention to expatriates,” he added.
