Pakistan, Bangladesh fined for slow over-rates in Rawalpindi Test

Due to their slow over rates during the Rawalpindi Test, Pakistan and Bangladesh were both fined by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Those hosting According to an ICC press statement, Bangladesh was punished three WTC points and fined 15 percent of their match cost for sustaining slow over-rates during the match, while Pakistan was fined 30 percent of their match price and penalized six ICC World Test Championship (WTC) points.

Bangladesh took Pakistan by 10 wickets in an unprecedented win to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

After time allowances were taken into account, it was determined that Pakistan was six overs short of the target while Bangladesh was three overs short. Ranjan Madugalle of the Emirates ICC Panel of Elite Match Referees therefore assessed the sanction.

There was no need for official hearings because captains Shan Masood of Pakistan and Najmul Hossain Shanto of Bangladesh accepted the suggested sanctions in exchange for pleading guilty to the offenses.
