Russia defence ministry says destroyed 50 Ukrainian drones

Moscow’s defense ministry said on Friday that Russian forces have destroyed fifty Ukrainian drones, both on Russian soil and in areas of Ukraine that it claims it has seized.

According to the government, the drones were destroyed over the Russian cities of Rostov and Krasnodar as well as the disputed Ukrainian territory of Zaporizhzhia.

According to a Telegram statement, “air defence systems destroyed 14 UAVs over Krasnodar, 26 over Zaporizhzhia region, and 10 over Rostov region.”

Although Zaporizhzhia is not entirely under Russian authority, Russia has previously claimed to have annexed the region.
