Zelensky renews calls for arms after deadly Russian strike

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine demanded on Saturday “accelerated” weaponry supplies from the West after reports from Kyiv indicated that a Russian strike in the country’s south had killed seven people, two of them children.

Following the attack on the southern town of Vilniansk, Zelensky declared, “Any delay in decisions in this war means the loss of human lives.”

This comes after an AFP story that said, “Russian strike on south Ukraine town kills seven.”

At least seven people were killed in a Russian hit on the town of Vilniansk in southern Ukraine, according to Kyiv. The incident occurred hours after Russia claimed that a Ukrainian drone had killed five people in a border village.

In the deadliest day of the more than two-year conflict, both nations claimed that two children were killed in each attack.
