Due to Benjamin Netanyahu’s criticism of US military deliveries, there have been new tensions between President Joe Biden’s administration and the Israeli prime this week. The White House called Netanyahu’s remarks “vexing” and “disappointing.”
The controversy started when Netanyahu asserted in a social media video earlier this week that Israel’s principal military ally, the US government, had been “withholding weapons and ammunitions” from his nation for some months.
“Those comments were deeply disappointing and certainly vexing to us, given the amount of support that we have and will continue to provide,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told journalists.
“No other country is doing more to help Israel defend itself against the threat by Hamas and, quite frankly, other threats that they’re facing in the region,” Kirby said.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said to reporters the day before that “we genuinely do not know what he’s talking about.”
Apart from a single ammunition transfer, Jean-Pierre stated that there are no further stops. None.”
She was alluding to a consignment of bombs weighing two thousand pounds, which Washington claims is being examined due to worries about their potential use in heavily populated regions.
