Jaishankar pays courtesy call on PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received a courtesy call from Indian Union Cabinet Minister and former External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar today at her residence.

Following the meeting, Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud briefed the media, saying, “Bangladesh Premier Sheikh Hasina and Jaishankar discussed in detail about the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.”

He said they conveyed a wish to improve the relationship even further in the days ahead.

The premier of Bangladesh urged Jaishankar to visit Dhaka and congratulated him on becoming an Indian minister.

The minister from India stated that the two nations’ relationship has peaked.

“We, the two countries are working to elevate and spread the relations further,” Hasan quoted Jaishankar as saying.

Senior Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and PM’s Press Secretary M Nayeemul Islam Khan were present during the briefing.
