According to a notification, Md. Jahidul Islam Bhuiyan, Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, has been named by the government as Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ new Managing Director (MD) and CEO.
On Sunday, the public administration ministry released the announcement about this appointment.
Bhuiyan, an 18th batch officer of the Bangladesh Civil Service-BCS (Administration) has worked in the industry, commerce, and expatriate welfare ministry after holding a variety of field-level roles.
Additionally, he worked in the Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul as the first secretary (Labor).
Shafiul Azim, who has been the Biman MD and CEO since December 2022, was named the Election Commission’s secretary earlier on May 21.
