Over 30 Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza – TV

According to Qatar’s Al Jazeera, Israeli army strikes on the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of over thirty Palestinians.

The TV channel reported that airstrikes on the northern Palestinian enclave villages of Jabalia and Beit Lahia resulted in the deaths of at least 21 civilians. Numerous other people sustained injuries. Additionally, according to Al Jazeera, the Israeli army shelled residential buildings in Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of 12 civilians and several injuries.

On October 7, 2023, militants from the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, which is based in the Gaza Strip, staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from Gaza, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and kidnapping over 240 hostages, including women, children, and the elderly. This incident sparked renewed tensions in the Middle East.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City was the target of Israeli authorities’ harsh activities, which prompted Hamas to launch its attack. In retaliation, Israel launched airstrikes on Gaza as well as certain regions of Lebanon and Syria, and imposed a complete blockade on the Gaza Strip, which was home to 2.3 million Palestinians prior to the crisis. On the West Bank, there have also been reports of clashes.
