British Foreign Secretary David Cameron announced on Monday that Hamas has been promised a 40-day truce and the release of “potentially thousands” of Palestinian captives in exchange for freeing Israeli hostages.
“A very generous offer of sustained 40 days ceasefire, the release of potentially thousands of Palestinian prisoners, in return for the release of these hostages,” Cameron said to the World Economic Forum in Riyadh on behalf of the Palestinian group.
