Shortly after takeoff from New York on Friday, a Delta Air Lines Boeing had an emergency escape slide fall off of it.
The Boeing 767 pilots, according to Delta, sensed a vibration in the aircraft, circled around, and made a safe landing at JFK airport.
The most recent incident involving a Boeing aircraft is being looked into by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States.
“As nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people, Delta flight crews enacted their extensive training and followed procedures to return to JFK,” the airline said.

The plane was carrying 176 passengers, two pilots, and five flight attendants. Its destination was Los Angeles.
They had to declare an emergency in order to promptly return the aircraft to JFK airport.
Boeing has been under more scrutiny regarding aircraft safety since a 737 Max door plug burst during an Alaska Airlines flight in January. What precipitated the most recent occurrence is unknown.
The aircraft is currently being assessed and is not in use.
