Nagad hands over promised Taka 20 lakh to BPL champions Barishal

The players and staff of Fortune Barishal, the defending Bangladesh Premier League champions, received a check for Taka 20 lakh from Nagad Limited, a prominent mobile financial services provider in the country.

At a recent hotel in the capital, Tanvir A. Mishuk, the founder and CEO of Nagad Ltd., gave the team owner, Mizanur Rahman, and captain, Tamim Iqbal, the check.

In addition to the family of Mizanur Rahman, the following cricket players and team officials graced the occasion: Mahmudullah Riyad, Soumya Sarkar, Taijul Islam, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Saifuddin, Shamim, and other players.

Although Tamim Iqbal, the captain of Fortune Barishal, has been Nagad’s brand ambassador for a number of years, the two organizations are not directly related. Furthermore, Nagad Islamic is connected to Mushfiqur Rahim. Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Mahmudullah Riyad have also attempted, albeit in different ways, to prompt Nagad.

This BPL season was linked to Nagad under the “powered by” heading.

Speaking on the occasion, Mizanur Rahman, the owner of Fortune Barishal, said, “Although we had reached the BPL final many times, we couldn’t win the trophy before. So, the joy this time was really special. I express my gratitude to Tanvir A Mishuk for adding to our joy.”

Tanvir A Mishuk said, “As a sponsor of BPL, we’ve been associated with the entire tournament. I’ve always felt Barishal team as my own. Some of my favorite players and representatives of Nagad have played in this team. Therefore, we consider it our own team.”
