The prohibition on visiting Ruma in Bandarban has been lifted by the authorities.
The directive was sent in a notice on Friday that was signed by Md. Didarul Alam, the acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
Ruma upazila prohibited all forms of tourism during the joint operation on April 9, according to the statement. The ban has already been removed.
According to the previous regulation, visitors should not be transported anywhere, including by waterways, and no jeeps may be taken to any tourist destinations.
Until the joint operation concluded, visitors were prohibited from making hotel reservations or visiting any locations within the upazila.
In the Thanchi upazila of Bandarban, KNF members had earlier stormed Sonali Bank and Krishi Bank at around 12:30 pm, robbing both banks of Tk15,00,000 from Sonali Bank and Tk2,45,000 from Krishi Bank.
They stole fourteen firearms and ammunition from the Ansar members at the barracks and the police officers positioned in the bank.
Armed militants from the KNF kidnapped bank manager Nezam Uddin during the heist. Around that time, worshippers who were offering Tarawi prayers were beaten and held captive by armed men who broke into the mosque next to the bank.
The incidences led to the filing of nine cases at the police stations in Thanchi and Ruma.
Twenty women have been among the fifty-eight people the joint forces have arrested as part of the operation and have been ordered to jail by the court.
