PRAN-RFL to set up another industrial park in Natore

The nation’s first agro-processing company, PRAN-RFL Group, is establishing a second industrial park in Natore.

The group intends to establish fish processing, mustard oil, noodles, and spice factories there in an effort to employ about a thousand people in Natore.

Mango, tomato, lentils, peanuts, chilies, and milk are currently produced by about 13,000 contract farmers in Natore for PRAN. In the future, PRAN plans to expand its contract farming operations to include the production of cassava, turmeric, and chiligura rice.

According to a press release, PRAN will be connected to 5,000 additional contract farmers in the district in this respect.

In a view-exchange meeting with local journalists today to commemorate the factory of PRAN Agro Limited in Natore turning twenty-four years old, Kamruzzaman Kamal, the Marketing Director at PRAN-RFL Group, made these remarks.

PRAN’s Natore facility opened its doors in 2000. The PRAN-RFL group’s 24-year journey in Natore has resulted in a significant transformation in the socioeconomic landscape.

The country’s leading business group has invested around Taka 1,500 crore in Natore so far. During this period, about 22,000 people of the district are directly and indirectly making a living on the factory of PRAN Agro Limited, a concern of PRAN-RFL Group, who are involved in various activities including production, seasonal work and product supply.

The products manufactured in PRAN Agro Limited’s factory include spices, mustard Oil, lachcha semai, sauce-ketchup, jelly, pickle, chutney, noodles, mayonnaise, chocolate and chips.

Kamal said that PRAN not only produces products in Natore, but also collects most of the raw materials required for the production of agricultural processed products from Natore and adjoining districts. PRAN purchased agricultural raw materials worth around Taka 1,500 crore in FY 2022-23 from contract farmers in Natore.

Hazrat Ali, General Manager at PRAN Agro Limited’s factory, said, “PRAN-RFL is conducting various activities including road construction, providing scholarships to school and college students, planting of trees in the area adjacent to the factory. Moreover, we have a plan to establish a public school in the district very soon.”

Among those in attendance at the program was Touhiduzzaman, Assistant General Manager (Public Relations) at PRAN-RFL Group.
