In their opening game of the SAFF U-16 Women’s Championship, which is set to take place tomorrow (Saturday) at the ANFA Complex in Kathmandu, Nepal, the Bangladesh U-16 women’s national football team is eager to get past the first obstacle as they take on the host nation, Nepal.
The game begins at 3:15 p.m. (BST).
The females in red and green were discovered to be motivated prior to the opening match, and their goal is to win the tournament.
“Winning the first match is very important in this format of the tournament… winning the match means one step closer to the final … though it’s their (Nepal) home match and the host team will get support from the local crowds …… so our main target will be how the girls will overcome the pressure outside their tactics,” Bangladesh head coach Saiful Bari Titu said during the team’s practice session at the match venue today.
The team has prepared well, according to right winger Sathi, and every player is in good physical condition and eager to give it their all during the game.
The girls’ strong attitude and readiness to take on challenges were also mirrored by the team’s manager, Amirul Islam Babu, who noted that the team had prepared very well.
Babu stated that even though this is Nepal’s home game, the girls are capable of defeating them and are hoping to emerge off the field victorious.
Bangladesh, who won the title of the SAFF championship in 2017, will play their second match against strong India on March 5 before their ultimate league match against Bhutan on March 8. The final is slated for March 10.
All the matches will be held at the same venue.
