In Kushtia City, a Power to Persuade training program was organized for disabled women

A three-day training program titled “Training on Power to Persuade” is being organized at the mission school training center in Kushtia City with the aim of increasing communication with the local government in the context of Bangladesh.

The training was organized by “Voice and Views” a human rights organization, in collaboration with “Mukti Women and Child Development Organization.”.

Mumtaz Ara Begum, founder executive director of Mukti Women and Children Development Organization and prominent freedom fighter, was present as the chief guest in the opening ceremony of this training organized under the overall supervision of IFES and funded by USAID.

IFES representative Shawni Imam and BM Rajib Ahmed were present as special guests. The training program was managed and coordinated by human rights activist Tamjida Jannati.

The event was presided over by Jannatul Ferdous Ivy, executive director of Voice and Views Human Rights Organization and one of BBC’s 100 Most Influential Women in 2023.

18 disabled and burned women from Kushtia are participating in the training. The main objective of this workshop is to create the ability to get their due and useful rights from the local government by increasing their own capacity and increasing communication in the right way on a regular basis.

The purpose of this program is to empower the disabled community to overcome any challenges on their own by developing capable leaders within the community.

The training course will conclude on February 14 after commencing on February 12.
