FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Monday hailed Franz Beckenbauer as a “true legend”, after the German football star died at the age of 78.
Infantino called Beckenbauer “a legend of German and world football” on social media platform Instagram.
“Der Kaiser was a great person, a friend of football and a true legend. We will never forget you dear Franz, thanks for everything.”
