The army announced Friday that a previous death toll of 100 had been increased to more than 1,300 when Hamas militants launched a huge offensive from the blockaded Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army reported on X, formerly Twitter, that over 3,200 additional people had been hurt, and the relatives of 120 hostages had been informed since the attack at daybreak on Saturday that turned into all-out conflict.
