Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta has reportedly signed a contract with Manchester United worth an initial £64 million.
After Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount and Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, the Danish international is Old Trafford’s third significant summer transfer addition.
Hojlund is believed to have been acquired by United for a reported sum of £64 million ($82 million), with an additional £8 million in add-ons.
According to reports, the 20-year-old has reached an agreement on a five-year contract with an additional season option.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, wants to increase his alternatives up front given his team’s lack of creativity last season.
Despite finishing third in the Premier League, Manchester United only managed to score 58 goals, 36 fewer than league champion Manchester City.
Hojlund joined Atalanta in August 2022 and made 34 appearances last season, scoring 10 goals.
On August 14, United’s first Premier League match is against Wolves at home.
