The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exam results were released today, and the overall pass rate was 80.39 percent, which is 7.05 percentage points lower than the pass rate from the previous year.
87.44 percent of students last year passed the SSC and comparable tests.
At her official house Ganobhaban here this morning, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially received the SSC results for 2023 from Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni and Deputy Minister for Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury.
The tests were attended by 20 lakh 41 thousand 450 candidates in total. 16 lakh 41 thousand 140 of their students have graduated. 7 lakh 96 thousand 404 men and 8 lakh 44 thousand 736 women make up the successful students.
1,83,578 students received a GPA of 5 this year. There are 84,964 male and 98,614 female students among them.
Out of 16,33,919 students enrolled in the nine general education boards, 13,22,446 graduated, with 6,16,071 men and 7,06375 women.
The students with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) in the SSC exams were 1,59,220 in total.
Out of 2,85,087 students enrolled in the Madrasah Education Board, 2,12,964 students—1,00,950 men and 1,12,014 women—graduated. Approximately 6213 of them received a GPA of 5.
Out of a total of 1,22,444 students, 1,05,730 students—79,383 men and 26,347 women—passed the Technical Education Board. 18,145 of them received the GPA-5.
