Russia grain deal exit could push up inflation: ECB’s Lagarde

President of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde expressed concern on Thursday that Russia’s decision to withdraw from a historic agreement for the shipment of grain from Ukraine could increase food prices and contribute to inflation.

Lagarde stated that the withdrawal represented “upside risks to inflation” after the ECB raised rates for the ninth consecutive time to combat rapidly growing consumer prices.
