Due to the excessive heat, 91 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia this year.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the deceased included 22 women and 69 males.
The majority of Hajj travelers perished in Mecca. According to the ministry’s hajj bulletin, 75 hajj pilgrims perished in Mecca, five in Medina, seven in Mina, two in Arafat, and one in each of Jeddah and Muzdalifah.
This year, 172 healthcare facilities were built in Saudi Arabia’s holy sites to service pilgrims. According to the ministry, 32 hospitals and 140 health centers have been designated to provide care to pilgrims.
Following the success of last year’s Hajj season, the kingdom’s ministry announced that it will continue to offer the virtual hospital service for the second year in a row.
As of Sunday, 76 aircraft carrying a total of 29,004 pilgrims had completed the Hajj.
Three carriers each operated 28 of these flights: Biman Bangladesh carriers, Saudi Airlines, and Flynas. Saudi Airlines flew 31 of these routes.
About 122,884 Muslims traveled to undertake the Hajj this year on 325 planes.
