According to the judiciary, Iran killed Swedish-Iranian dissident Habib Chaab for “terrorism” on Saturday.
“The death sentence for Habib Chaab… nicknamed Habib Asyud, the head of the Harakat al-Nidal terrorist group… was executed today, Saturday morning,” according to the judiciary’s Mizan Online website.
A Swedish-Iranian dissident convicted of directing an Arab separatist group guilty of attacks, including one on a military parade in 2018 that murdered 25 people, was hanged by Iran.
Habib Farajollah Chaab received the death penalty for being “corrupt on earth,” a grave offense under Iran’s rigid interpretation of Islamic law. On Saturday, the state television IRIB confirmed his execution.
