The dominant social networking platform has modified verification ticks yet again. Numerous people who received their ticks back have noted that they are not using the subscription service.
Only a few days after practically all Twitter users who refused to pay the $8 (€7.20) monthly subscription costs had their identity-verifying blue ticks removed, some of the platform’s most avid users were shocked to see that their recognized status had been restored for free on Saturday.
On Friday, the social networking site removed the blue ticks from non-paying members. Since billionaire Elon Musk acquired control of the company last October, the platform has seen a number of dramatic adjustments.
The labels indicating whether media outlets were supported by the government or were associated with it were taken off by Twitter the same day.
The likes of author Stephen King, NBA champion LeBron James, and former US President Donald Trump, though, were holding onto theirs. According to a tweet from Musk, he was “paying for a few [subscriptions] personally.”
