Jamie Foxx, the Oscar-winning US actor, has been hospitalized with an unidentified medical problem but is recovering, according to his family.
Foxx, 55, is being monitored at a medical facility in Georgia, where he is filming a Netflix production, according to CNN.
“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” his daughter Corinne Foxx posted on Instagram Wednesday.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
According to the celebrity news website TMZ, Foxx’s condition was “serious enough that Jamie’s family… came to the hospital,” but an unnamed insider said the actor was afterward able to speak.
According to CNN, the medical incident did not occur on the set of “Back in Action,” a Netflix film starring Foxx and Cameron Diaz.
Foxx’s representatives did not immediately respond to an AFP request for comment or provide any additional information.
Foxx, an actor, comedian, and Grammy-winning singer, won an Academy Award for the Ray Charles musical biography ‘Ray’ in 2004 and was nominated for an Oscar for ‘Collateral’ that same year.
He also appeared in ‘Django Unchained’ and ‘Dreamgirls’.
