Soumya Sarkar, a left-handed hitter, and Shoriful Islam, a left-arm pacer, were both included to Bangladesh’s final T20 World Cup roster, which was submitted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) before the deadline for participating countries to make player changes of October 14.
Sabbir Rahman, a batter, and Saifuddin, an all-arounder, who had previously been named in the 15-man roster that was unveiled on September 14 have been replaced by Soumya and Shoriful, who were previously on the standby list.
Following a tri-nation series with the hosts and Pakistan in New Zealand, Sabbir and Saifuddin will fly back home.
In the tournament, which Pakistan eventually won by defeating New Zealand, Bangladesh finished with an 0-4 record.
The Bangladesh T20 World Cup side meanwhile, heads to Brisbane on Saturday where they will play two warm-up games against Afghanistan and South Africa on October 17 and 19 before starting their campaign in Hobart on October 24.
