A 15-person Bangladeshi team has been named by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will take place in Australia in October and November.
Mahmudullah Riyad, a seasoned player, was dropped from the team due to his subpar performance in this style.
However, injured players including Liton Das, Nurul Hasan Sohan, and Hasan Mahmud rejoined the team after recovering.
Naim Sheikh, Parvez Hossain Emon, Mahedi Hasan, Anamul Haque Bijoy who were in the squad for Bangladesh’s disastrous Asia Cup were also dropped.
Mushfiqur Rahim previously announced his retirement from this format, leaving Shakib Al Hasan as the sole senior player available for Bangladesh.
Shakib will serve as the team’s captain at the World Cup, with Nurul Hasan Sohan serving as his assistant.
