On Wednesday, Chelsea fired manager Thomas Tuchel after a humiliating 1-0 Champions League loss against Dinamo Zagreb, just seven games into the current campaign.
The German, who helped the London club win the Club World Cup earlier this year and the Champions League in 2021, has “parted company,” the club announced in a statement.
In a statement, Chelsea FC expressed its appreciation to Thomas and his crew on behalf of the entire team for all of their work while they were employed by the organization.
“Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.”
Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, the club’s new owners, claimed they had changed ownership at “the correct time.”
After six games, Chelsea is sixth in the Premier League standings with three victories, one tie, and two losses. Tuchel was fired by Bournemouth last week, making him the second Premier League manager to lose his job this year.
