Due to back problems, fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out of the rest of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) matches.
Taskin, who was playing for the Sylhet Sunrisers at the time, also missed the team’s final two games of the tournament. He took five wickets in four BPL matches.
Officials from the Sylhet Sunrisers verified the news, stating that the tournament is now over for the fast bowler, who has been in outstanding form.
Simultaneously, his participation in the limited-overs series against Afghanistan appeared to be in doubt. He is thought to have opted out of the BPL in order to play the Afghanistan series at full strength.
On February 12, Afghanistan will travel to Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series and two T20 Internationals. The ODI series is part of the International Cricket Council’s ODI Super League.
