Lata Mangeshkar, the legendary Indian singer who is now undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, is showing signs of progress and has been taken off ventilatory support.
The singer was given a “trial of extubation (off the invasive Ventilator)” on Thursday morning and is showing indications of improvement, according to the Mangeshkar family.
The “India’s Nightingale” is still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, according to the statement.
“Presently, she is showing signs of improvement but will remain under observation of the team of doctors headed by Dr Pratit Samdani. We thank each one of you for your prayers and good wishes.”
The 92-year-old celebrity was admitted to a hospital near her house in south Mumbai, where she was diagnosed with Covid-19 and other health difficulties. She tested positive on Tuesday (January 11) after getting the virus from one of the house helpers, according to reports.
