On Wednesday, Mumbai Police arrested Google CEO Sundar Pichai and five other corporate executives for violating the Copyright Act.
“A case has been lodged against Google CEO Sundar Pichai and five other corporate employees for Copyright Act violation on the orders of a court,” Mumbai police stated.
Suneel Darshan, the director of the film ‘Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha,’ said in his complaint that Google permitted unauthorized people to post his video to YouTube. An investigation into the matter is currently underway.
Suneel Darshan has already sought the court regarding a copyright issue. After hearing the case, a Mumbai judge issued an FIR against Google’s Sundar Pichai and five other executives. According to the MIDC police in Andheri East, an FIR has been filed and investigations have begun.
Suneel Darshan has directed several Bollywood films starring top performers, the most recent of which was Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha in 2017. Several people have uploaded the film to YouTube.
