New Zealand’s inspection team landed in Dhaka today to keep a careful eye on the situation ahead of the Black Caps’ impending tour.
Bangladesh will play New Zealand in five T20 International matches in September, with the Kiwis arriving on August 24.
For the time being, two members of the inspection team have arrived, with a third arriving on August 20.
Dr. Debashish Chowdhury, the chief physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), confirmed the story.
They can begin their inspection after three days of quarantine, according to Dr. Chowdhury. However, because the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium’s ground is not yet under bio-bubble, there are concerns regarding how they will begin their inspection. Bringing them to the field, according to the BCB’s top physician, is equally perilous.
“They’ll be quarantined for three days, following which we’ll figure out how they’ll continue their inspections. The situation is complicated by the fact that the ground is not currently covered by a bio-bubble. In the field, there are a lot of people coming and going. It’s also risky to put children in this circumstance. Dr. Chowdhury stated, “We will find a way by consulting with them.”
The inspection crew can stay here till the completion of the series, according to Debashish Chowdhury.
He also stated that New Zealand would be entitled to the same advantages as Australia. The BCB is attempting to keep the bio-bubble trend going, as shown in the Australia series.
On August 24, the New Zealand squad will arrive in Bangladesh. On Monday night, New Zealand Cricket revealed a 16-member roster for the upcoming tour. On September 1, the first of five T20 matches will be played. The remaining four matches will take place on September 3, 5, 8, and 10.
