Mustafizur Rahman, Bangladesh’s fast bowler, is unlikely to play the opening ODI against Zimbabwe tomorrow after injuring his ankle during a practice match.
Mustafizur was able to bowl five balls in the one-day practice game yesterday (Wednesday) before suffering the ailment. His status did not appear to be good, therefore he was removed off the ground right away.
The physiotherapist, on the other hand, urged him to monitor his condition for the next two days.
ODI captain Tamim Iqbal, though, stated Mustafizur’s chances of playing the opening game are 50/50.
“Physio has reached out to him. Mustafizur has a fifty-fifty chance of appearing in the opening match. Tonight, we’ll receive a clear picture of his condition. “Right now, his chances are fifty-fifty,” Tamim revealed today.
Tamim, on the other hand, is unconcerned about whether Bangladesh will have Mustafizur Rahman’s services in the opening game. While Mushfiqur has already returned to Bangladesh to be with his ailing parents, Tamim is still recovering from a knee injury and is unable to play.
“We don’t always have the opportunity to play with our full strength teams. And we must accept the situation as it is. Consider Mushfiqur’s predicament or Mustafizur’s ailment… These things have gotten out of hand. As a result, the team was limited at 16-17 members. Tamim stated, “Everyone in the squad is qualified.”
