To combat the sudden spike of the COVID-19 epidemic, the government agreed to prolong the ongoing flight suspension of all domestic flights for another week, until July 14.
Under government direction and instruction, all domestic flight operations will be suspended from 12:01 a.m. on July 8 till July 14, according to a circular published by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) today.
Medical evacuations, humanitarian and relief flights (operated in collaboration with local police/authorities), and freight flights will be exempt from the limitation, according to the statement.
International flights to and from Dhaka will function normally, and outbound travellers will be allowed to travel by automobile if they can present proof of plane tickets.
The administration prolonged the existing “tight lockdown” until July 14 earlier today.
Domestic flight operations were halted by the government on July 1.
