An official at the Bangladesh embassy in Libya confirmed the information on Sunday (June 13th).
The Libyan Observer reports that the country’s coastguard launched two separate rescue operations in the Mediterranean on Thursday (June 10th). In this operation, 439 immigrants were rescued. They are citizens of different countries in Africa and Asia. They were trying to get to Europe by sea.
According to the Libyan Observer, the country’s coast guard has rescued more than 9,000 migrants from the sea this year, according to the country’s interior minister.
