The Government of Bangladesh has decided to extend the ongoing restrictions on overall activities and movement of people in Bangladesh for more a week in a bid to stem the spread of Covid-19.
“Considering the global situation and following the advice of public health experts, a decision has been taken to extend the ongoing restrictions for more a week,” State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said.
During the restriction, however, shops and shopping malls will remain open from 10am to 8pm everyday, he added.
Earlier, the government enforced a weeklong ‘stricter restriction (lockdown)’ on public and vehicular movements on April 14 in a bid to contain the alarming spread of the COVID-19, which was later extended for more a week till April 21, reports BSS.
Later, another circular declared stating that lockdown would be extended for another one week till April 28.
