The authority of social media Facebook has appointed a Bengali speaking officer to solve any problem related to Bangladeshi content quickly. The name of the newly appointed Bangladesh Affairs Officer of Facebook is Sabhanaz Rashid Diya. This officer will look after the part of Bangladesh.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar on Monday held a digital meeting with Facebook’s regional headquarters in Singapore. At this time, the information of the appointment of the officer was informed by Facebook. The meeting lasted about three hours.
Quoting officials at Facebook’s Singapore office, the ministry sources said, Sabhanaz Rashid Diya, a Bengali speaker, would be able to respond quickly to Bangladesh-related issues.
During the meeting, Mustafa Jabbar called upon Facebook to take measures to ensure safe use of Facebook in accordance with the rules and regulations of Bangladesh on various issues including anarchy, pornography, terrorism, spreading rumors, leaking exam papers, propaganda and social security. It was informed at the meeting that Facebook will work with BTRC and concerned people to implement their transparent activities in Bangladesh through at least one meeting every month.
Facebook’s Head of Safety Vikram Seng, Facebook’s Director of Public Policy Ashwini Rana, Facebook’s newly appointed Bangladesh Affairs Officer Sabhanaz Rashid Dia and Facebook’s Mobile Partner Department’s Iram Iqbal attended the online meeting.
